Dr. Yaw Ansu is a seasoned economist with a deep understanding of political economy and policymaking with a wide international exposure to high-level policy environments.

Dr. Ansu served as a USAID Embedded Advisor to the Ministry of Finance in Ghana, Chief Economist at the African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET). He worked with the World Bank for over 26 years in various capacities, including as a Country Director (Nigeria, Zambia, and Zimbabwe), Director for Economic Policy in the World Bank’s Economics Network, Head of the Economists Sector Board, and Africa Sector Director for Human Development for Africa.

Dr. Ansu is currently the Board Chairman of the Development Bank of Ghana (DBG).

He holds a PhD. Engineering- Economic Systems (Economics, Mathematics/ Systems Sciences) Stanford University, California, USA., M.S. Engineering-Economic Systems, Stanford University, California, USA, and a BA. Economics, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA.
